Apple deals with News Publishers to train its Generative AI

Apple has deals with News Publishers to train its Generative AI using News articles. The company has approaching many big news publishers with the big deal of $50 million. The NYT says it has been in touch with other publications like Condé Nast, NBC News, and IAC.

The response from the News publishers is mix. The publishers might be potentially on the hook for any legal liabilities that could stem from Apple use of their content, the NYT says. The other news executives were more positive and possible that they are partnering with Apple.

Apple's  has recent working in the field of AI. The company is not much in the race, If we compare from competitors like Open AI, Google and Microsoft.

Apple has work hard and investing millions of dollars a day on AI. It has recently launched its Machine Learning framework to build models to run efficiently on silicon chips and also working on LLM's to work efficient run on phones. According to Bloomberg report, Apple is developing to improve the version of Siri and planning to focus on AI enabled features on next IOS release.

The people also told in publication, that how Apple is used to apply generative AI to the news industry. Apple do not want to use information from web due to its commitment to privacy.

This will compare with other companies that used copyrighted data to train its AI model. At end, result they are facing various copyright lawsuits.

But apple has choosen the cautious approach where people are optimistic that apple will strike a deal with these news publishers.

Recently, Apple has introduced new MacBook pro and iMac computers and three new chips in October and can be used by AI researchers.
